Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME generic Top-Level Domain is the only one intended for personal web pages only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to secure john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer key from the current registrar firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular restrictions on who can acquire a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the goal behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
